  About Library

   

  The New Law College has one of the best libraries with a rich collection of both Indian and foreign books. Students use it not only for curricular reference but also for broadening their horizons and research work. The library gives access to an exclusive collection of primary and secondary resources to all the users in the college. It is well stocked with textbooks, reference materials, law reports, and journals/periodicals worth more than Rs.1 crore.

  Our library is perhaps the only library in Pune having the collection of All England Law Reports, United States Supreme Court Report (136 Volumes), and Corpus Juris Secundum Halsbury Law England (150 Volumes), which is an invaluable tool for law research. The latest additions to our library are Manupatra, LexisNexis, and Westlaw. Our library services include a reading room, interlibrary loan, OPAC, internet, open access system, and book bank.   • Eligibility for Making the use of library                                                                                           
  • • The person should be a bonafide student of the college.
    • Faculty member / staff member                                                                                                            
  • Identity card and borrow card will not be issued unless original receipt is produced student should renew their identity card annually before 31st August.
  • While entering the library, every student is required to enter his / her name and sign    the register kept at the Counter.   
  • Smoking, consumption of Gutka, Spitting and Strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • The reader should not write in the book or damage book in any manner or damage book any property belonging to library.
  • If any book is lost, the reader shall have to replace the same and if any other property is damaged or broken, it shall be made good by reader and shall have to pay the value of same        as may be determined by the college, the minimum is 1.5 times the value of the book.
  • Periodicals will not be issued for home lending.
  • The issue of book for home lending is subject to the maintenance of deposit with the college.
  • This deposit will be refunded at the time of leaving the college .
  • Only one book will be Issued on the borrow card for a week, renewal of books allowed once      only.
  • Any book not returned on the date is subject to Late fee. of Rs.5/ per week after expiry of due date.
  • All the student should strictly note that they must carry their Identity card and should produce    the same whenever demanded by concerned staff. Book will be issued only on production of valid identity card and current library card.

  • Loss of library card and borrower’s card should be reported at once Duplicate identity card / borrower’s card will be issue, but it any misuse is detected on the original card the student will be liable to make  good any such loss for Duplicate identity card / borrower’s card Rs.50/- will have to be paid. Therefore the identity as well as Borrower’s card should be kept very carefully and proper care should be taken to ensure that it well not lost only one book will be issued for home lending for period of one week.
  • Library may refuse to issue any book to any member or he may recall any book without  assigning any reason therefore.
  • Books already issued it needed by any member can be reserved by filling in the demand slip.
  • Teachers are entitled to borrow 10 books according to the prescribed syllabus, which is being  taught by them.
  • All book should be returned before 30th April or by the end of the term.

  The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), as a premier institution for development and dissemination of educational e-content, is committed to transforming education through new ICT-based technologies with emphasis on learner-centric pedagogy for the benefit of web learners across the country. CEC is one of the largest repositories of digitised educational content in the country, and also the National Coordinator for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for SWAYAM platform of MHRD and also for SWAYAM Prabha DTH channels offering a bouquet of 11 educational channels in various disciplines. CEC has revamped its web portal re-designed especially to render it more user-friendly. Further, the new portal is equipped with web-based Learning Management System (LMS) with its self-paced learning taxonomy. It also has a rich web repository in the form of e—courseware and Short Learning Object (SLOs), re-introduced in a new format to facilitate conceptual clarity, thus making the acquisition of knowledge and skill-sets more efficient and effective. Through these initiatives, CEC is on the way to take education to the remotest learners, and, I am sure, with the active cooperation of our stakeholders namely policy makers, academicians, collaborators and students, we shall continue fulfilling the mandate entrusted CEC by "Empowering People with the Power of Knowledge".   e-PG Pathshala is an initiative of the MHRD under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT) being executed by the UGC. The content and its quality being the key component of education system, high quality, curriculum-based, interactive e-content in 70 subjects across all disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts and humanities, natural & mathematical sciences, linguistics and languages have been developed by the subject experts working in Indian universities and other R & D institutes across the country. One can access UN Official records on the basis of Symbols, words in title, date of publications, job number and full text search.   The Legal Information Institute of India (LII of India) <www.liiofindia.org> is an international standard, free-access and non-profit, comprehensive online collection of Indian legal information. The prototype is open for public use on 25 November 2010. It was formally launched in India in by National Law University Delhi at Vigyan Bhawan on 1st May 2010. The contents of the LII of India prototype contains 154 databases including legislation (the India Code from 1836, some State legislation, and commentary on legislation), Indian case law (over 300,000 cases in full text from the Supreme Court, most High Courts, and tribunals), treaties (all India treaties to 1975, plus many subsequent bilateral treaties), law reform reports (from the Law Commission), legal scholarship (six law journals to date, with scholarship repositories, books and judicial scholarship still to be developed), cases concerning India in International Courts and Tribunals, and cases concerning India from the pre-1873 English Reports.   Delhi Public Library Delhi Public Library Research scholars, teachers and students can now access the resources of DPL directly such as Newspapers Archives from 1952, Online Catalogue, Rare Gramophone Records, unique collection of books on Delhi & Delhi Gazettes. Some other special services of DPL includes Braillee Library for the visually impaired, a Prison Library for the inmates of Tihar Jail and Mobile Library services to areas without library facility.
